Our Partners in Montana

We've worked with the following partners in this state to expand access to reproductive health care.

Current Partners

State partner
Blue Mountain Clinic

The upfront cost of stocking LARC devices is one of the greatest barriers health care providers face to offering same-day access to LARC. These constraints are particularly hard on people living in large, rural states like Montana, who must often travel hundreds of miles for any reproductive health care. After conducting research on potential models for an efficient and sustainable LARC supply chain in 2019, Planned Parenthood of Montana and Blue Mountain Clinic are continuing their work with NIRH to pursue feasible avenues to increase access to same-day, peri- and post-abortion LARC device insertion for patients who choose this method. This partnership involves collaboration with the Abortion Care Network (ACN).

State & local partner
NARAL Pro-Choice Montana

The National Institute supported NARAL Pro-Choice Montana's 2015 efforts to develop innovative strategies to expand access to abortion across the state, with a particular focus on access in rural areas. In 2013, the National Institute partnered with NARAL Pro-Choice Montana to coordinate a policymaker bootcamp for Montana legislators and other pro-choice advocates. In 2010, NARAL Pro-Choice Montana hosted roundtables in Missoula and Helena in support of comprehensive sex education, resulting in passage of comprehensive sex education curricula by the school boards in both communities.
