Our Partners in Florida
We've worked with the following partners in this state to expand access to reproductive health care.
State Infrastructure Project - Florida
NIRH works with a cohort of organizations in Florida on a long-term proactive abortion policy and culture shift project to develop and advance an abortion rights vision, engage a new and broad base of supporters, and reduce shame and stigma by publicly promoting the affirmative value of abortion. This project includes the Equality Florida Institute Inc., National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice Florida Latina Advocacy Network, Power U, Progress Florida Education Institute, Planned Parenthood of South, North, East, and North Florida, Florida Access Network, and Southern Birth Justice Network.
Southern Birth Justice Network
Southern Birth Justice Network (SBJN) is a community organization committed to providing accessible and quality holistic birth care to Black, indigenous, and people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, low-income people, and other marginalized communities. In 2019, SBJN partnered with NIRH to expand the Birth Justice movement in South Florida through public education and strategic planning with city councilmembers. SBJN held a birth justice town hall and film screening to introduce people to the concept of birth justice and expand their movement to ensure greater access to doula care.
