Whole Woman's Health is working as part of a cohort of organizations in Texas on a long-term initiative to develop and advance an abortion rights vision, engage a new and broad base of supporters, and reduce shame and stigma by publicly promoting the affirmative value of abortion in women's lives. In 2013, Whole Woman's Health worked to defeat anti-choice legislation with grassroots advocacy, an an abortion story collection project, and research briefings for lawmakers. This project was conducted in partnership with NARAL Pro-Choice Texas.

Lilith Fund, NARAL Pro-Choice Texas, Texas Equal Access (TEA) Fund, & West Fund are engaging in a coordinated effort in three cities to improve the landscape of reproductive health, rights, and justice in their communities and to develop a cohesive multi-city strategy to advance abortion access and build grassroots power on the local level. This work builds on the #ReproPowerTX Campaign, which puts forth a local proactive policy agenda for reproductive freedom grounded in research and community input. These agendas were developed for Dallas and Houston in 2016 with support from NIRH and All* Above All. This year, they are creating a #ReproPowerTX agenda for El Paso, and working together closely to advocate for the introduction and passage of at least one policy, initiative, or resolution outlined in each city’s agenda with broad grassroots support in all three communities. This multi-city strategy is also demonstrating residents’ support for abortion through a Local Repro Day of Action in Dallas, El Paso, and Houston.

Lilith Fund and NARAL Pro-Choice Texas (Houston, TX) continued to build on the success of their 2015 National Institute supported roundtable on abortion access and advocacy with the launch of a comprehensive reproductive rights agenda, #ReproPowerHouston, with an adjoining website at www.ReproPowerTx.org.
