NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut and Hartford GYN Center are partnering to educate and mobilize a grassroots base in support of local regulations that would restrict crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) from using deceptive advertising in Hartford and Middleton, CT. The two organizations are raising public awareness of the manipulative and dishonest practices of CPCs, developing a volunteer program to protect the clinic from interference and protest, and promoting public awareness about Hartford GYN Center as a place for safe, compassionate abortion care.

In 2006, NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut worked to pass a bill mandating that emergency rooms offer emergency contraception to survivors of sexual assault. Although the bill did not pass, they conducted meaningful advocacy and educational work with members of the legislature and the public.
