Statement by National Institute for Reproductive Health President Andrea Miller

“In the last week President Trump has appointed two anti-choice, anti-contraception and anti-health ‘leaders’ to critical roles overseeing women’s health at the Department of Health and Human Services. Today he adds to this alarming legacy by issuing an executive order that gives employers permission to discriminate and cut women’s health care. The order would also create dangerous exemptions to laws requiring access to reproductive health care and preventive care.

“President Trump’s latest dangerous action follows an unacceptable pattern of contempt for health, science, the law, and women’s’ rights – and puts women at risk of losing access to the resources they need to be in charge of their own bodies, families, and lives.”
