Governor Andrew M. Cuomo

[/fusion_text][fusion_separator style_type=”none” top_margin=”” bottom_margin=”” sep_color=”” icon=”” width=”” class=”” id=””/][fusion_accordion class=”togglecenter” id=””][fusion_toggle title=”Read Bio” open=”no”]Andrew M. Cuomo is the 56th Governor of New York, having assumed office on January 1, 2011. Throughout his entire life, Andrew Cuomo has had the same values and the same principles; he has not only believed in those values and principles, but he has developed the skills to fight for them – and to win. As Governor, Andrew Cuomo has fought for social, racial and economic justice for all New Yorkers.
Under his leadership, New York passed marriage equality, a $15 minimum wage, the strongest paid family leave program in the nation, the strongest gun safety laws in the nation, equal rights for women, greater protections for immigrants, the largest investment in education in state history, cut taxes for the middle class, implemented a 2 percent property tax cap, put more New Yorkers to work than ever before, and became the first state in the nation to offer free college tuition for middle-class families. He also got the state building again – taking on projects that had been stalled for decades and using union labor every step of the way.
Andrew Cuomo is the proud father of three girls, Mariah, Cara, and Michaela.[/fusion_toggle][/fusion_accordion][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ last=”no” spacing=”yes” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_imageframe lightbox=”no” style_type=”none” bordercolor=”” bordersize=”0px” borderradius=”0″ stylecolor=”” align=”center” link=”” linktarget=”_self” animation_type=”0″ animation_direction=”down” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””] [/fusion_imageframe][fusion_separator style_type=”none” top_margin=”” bottom_margin=”” sep_color=”” icon=”” width=”” class=”” id=””/][fusion_text]

Senate Democratic Leader

Andrea Stewart-Cousins

[/fusion_text][fusion_separator style_type=”none” top_margin=”” bottom_margin=”” sep_color=”” icon=”” width=”” class=”” id=””/][fusion_accordion class=”togglecenter” id=””][fusion_toggle title=”Read Bio” open=”no”]Andrea Stewart-Cousins was elected by her colleagues to serve as Leader of the Senate Democratic Conference in December 2012, becoming the first female leader of a legislative conference in New York State history. She was first elected to the State Senate in 2006, representing parts of Westchester County including Greenburgh, part of White Plains, part of New Rochelle, part of Yonkers and Scarsdale. Her belief that creating change locally affects changes on the State level has driven her legislative and policy agenda at home and in Albany. In January 2019, Andrea Stewart-Cousins became the first women legislative leader in New York State history.
As Leader, Andrea Stewart-Cousins has made women’s rights and growing the state economy a key priority for the Senate Democratic Conference. She also understands that education is the equalizer in our society, and that is why she has fought to improve the quality of education for every child, regardless of what zip code they live in. Throughout her time in public service, Senator Stewart-Cousins has been a strong advocate for human rights, quality education, accessible and affordable reproductive health care, and making government more efficient, transparent and accountable to all citizens.
Senator Stewart-Cousins resides in Yonkers, was married to the late Thomas Cousins and has three children and four grandchildren.[/fusion_toggle][/fusion_accordion][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_imageframe lightbox=”no” style_type=”none” bordercolor=”” bordersize=”0px” borderradius=”0″ stylecolor=”” align=”center” link=”” linktarget=”_self” animation_type=”0″ animation_direction=”down” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””] [/fusion_imageframe][fusion_separator style_type=”none” top_margin=”” bottom_margin=”” sep_color=”” icon=”” width=”” class=”” id=””/][fusion_text]

Heastie is the 100th Speaker of the New York State Assembly. He has the historic distinction of being the first African-American to serve as leader of the Chamber’s 150 members representing communities across the state of New York. Since his election on February 3, 2015, he has led the Assembly Democratic Majority in efforts to uplift communities and promote a Families First agenda that prioritizes strategic investments in the health, safety, economic and social well-being of New York’s families. Under his leadership, the Assembly has won a number of landmark victories that deliver on the Assembly Majority’s promise to expand opportunities for achievement in communities around the state.
Since his very first days in office, he has been a fierce and public advocate for the needs of women and girls, including the importance of advancing equitable access to the full range of reproductive and sexual health information and services and securing each person’s right to make important decisions about their reproductive lives.[/fusion_toggle][/fusion_accordion][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][fusion_separator style_type=”none” top_margin=”10″ bottom_margin=”12″ sep_color=”” icon=”” width=”” class=”” id=””/][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container][fusion_builder_container backgroundcolor=”” backgroundimage=”” backgroundrepeat=”no-repeat” backgroundposition=”left top” backgroundattachment=”scroll” video_webm=”” video_mp4=”” video_ogv=”” video_preview_image=”” overlay_color=”” overlay_opacity=”0.5″ video_mute=”yes” video_loop=”yes” fade=”no” bordersize=”0px” bordercolor=”” borderstyle=”” paddingtop=”20px” paddingbottom=”20px” paddingleft=”0px” paddingright=”0px” menu_anchor=”” equal_height_columns=”no” hundred_percent=”no” class=”” id=””][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_2″ last=”no” spacing=”yes” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”5px” border_color=”#1f8199″ border_style=”solid” padding=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]
