NIRH is partnering with the YWCA Kalamazoo in a campaign to increase county funding for a new local Reproductive Health Fund that is grounded in a reproductive justice framework and is intentionally focused on achieving race and gender equity in Kalamazoo County. The Fund will help county residents facing financial barriers to access the full spectrum of reproductive and gender affirming care, including abortion, contraception, doula care, hormone replacement therapy, and postpartum care. This would be the first such municipal initiative of its kind in the country. Through an easy-to-use structure, the Fund will also address the fragmented system of care between direct service providers, government entities, and community-based programs. This project is a collaboration with All* Above All.
