Governor Cuomo’s renewed commitment to protecting and expanding abortion access and passing the Contraceptive Coverage Act (CCCA) along with his formation of a new formalized board to review maternal mortality are much-needed steps towards reproductive freedom for all New Yorkers. The ‘Report on the Status of New York Women and Girls – 2018 Outlook’ should serve as a guide for New York and a blueprint for governors in red and blue states across the country.
New York has a lasting legacy of protecting women’s health and rights and we will never be deterred by this anti-choice president’s continued attempts to strip away women’s rights.”
