Illinois
Illinois Planned Parenthood: Project is a continuation of a three-year effort to support legislative and administrative efforts to implement access to EC through collaborative practice agreements.
Champaign County Health Care Consumers: Conducting EC outreach to Latina populations, especially undocumented women, through promotora (community health worker) project. Mobilizing around pharmacy access and ensuring that free EC remains available for young women at state universities.
Iowa
Planned Parenthood of Greater Iowa: Project is statewide effort to expand access to EC through publicly funded clinics and by providing up-to-date information regarding availability of EC at pharmacies. Conducted statewide phone survey of pharmacies and launched Project Pharmacy directory online.
North Carolina
NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina: Building a coalition and establishing a strategy plan to ensure Medicaid coverage for EC OTC. Formed local coalition with IPAS to conduct advocacy with Latina populations; planning to conduct training for pharmacy board.
South Dakota, North Dakota, and Kansas
Native American Women’s Health Education Resource Center: Working with other tribal groups to change Indian Health Services policies and procedures to ensure that all IHS centers will provide EC.
Texas
NARAL Pro-Choice Texas: Conducting Pharmacist Education Campaign to promote policy changes at the Texas Pharmacy Board. Creating EC locator site targeting young women in the Houston area with information about where they can obtain EC.
Wisconsin
NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin: Continuing advocacy work to increase or mandate pharmacy signage about EC in Milwaukee and Oshkosh. Advocating for passage of EC in the ER bill.
Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin/Wisconsin Alliance for Women’s Health: Working within existing state collaborative practice law to pilot EC pharmacy access in rural WI and Milwaukee. Conducting provider and pharmacist training about EC.
