Who We Are
The National Institute for Reproductive Health (NIRH) works at the state and local level in New York and across the U.S. to promote reproductive rights and expand access to reproductive health care through bold advocacy, creative education campaigns, and high-impact partnerships. NIRH is an innovative policy, communications, and educational organization that partners with state and local leaders to design new approaches to increase the availability of comprehensive reproductive health services (with a particular focus on abortion), reduce unintended pregnancies, and empower youth to make healthy sexual and reproductive decisions. In New York, NIRH serves as the 501(c)3 sister organization to NARAL Pro-Choice New York.
Two of NIRH’s signature programs – the Urban Initiative for Reproductive Health and the Strengthen Our States Initiative – provide seed funding and strategic, technical assistance and hands-on support to dozens of organizations throughout the country seeking to advance reproductive health, rights, and justice. A third, TORCH – the Teen Outreach Reproductive CHallenge – is an award-winning effort to build new young leaders and engage in peer-to-peer education on sexual and reproductive health issues.
